Santa Marta is located in the north of Colombia, close to the border of Venezuela limiting to the north with the Caribbean.
In the Sierra Nevada from Colombia, the coffee is grown and cultivated by the indigenous inhabitants. The coffeeberries are picked manualy and than processed using the washed method.
During the harvest people everybody in the family helps to pick the berries and processing the coffee. The plantation is in the most northern mountains of Colombia, not far from the Caribbean sea with a good microclimate for coffee : warm days and cool nights.

The coffee is produced by Gerardo Forero, who has been taking care of the environment and biodiversity. He complies with the organic rules and therefore his coffee is organically certified, which guarantees that no chemical or artificial pesticides, insecticides of fertilizers are used.
